What is exercise therapy?
Exercise therapy uses purposeful movement to improve physical function. Exercises may focus on muscle strength, joint mobility, balance or everyday tasks. The programme is chosen for each person after assessing their current abilities.
What happens during a session?
The physiotherapist first assesses your movement, strength and limitations, then teaches correct technique and adjusts intensity and repetitions to your condition. Home exercises continue this plan and should not be chosen from a photograph or a generic programme alone.
Why is follow-up important?
The aim is a gradual return to activity and better self-management. Progress is reviewed and the programme adjusted when needed. Report a significant increase in symptoms during exercise. Outcomes and treatment duration vary between people.

- 1Assess movement and ability
- 2Teach individual exercises
- 3Review and adjust the plan
